Old Fashioned Popcorn

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup dry popcorn
  • Large Pot with lid
  • Melted Dairy-Free Margarine & Salt as desired

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in the pot over medium-high.
  2. Add 3 popcorn kernels. Shake now and then.
  3. When the kernels pop add all of the popcorn to the pot. Cover.
  4. Shake the pot over medium-high heat as the popcorn pops. Continue until the popcorn stops popping, or at least slows down significantly.
  5. Remove from the heat. Transfer the hot popcorn to a bowl. Drizzle with melted margarine and sprinkle with salt. Serve. Leftovers may be included in packed lunches.
  6. We use 1/4-cup margarine and 1/2-teaspoon salt per batch.

Proverbs 31:27  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
