Quick Maple Flavored Pancake Syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 teaspoon maple flavoring (a few drops)
- 1 teaspoon margarine or Butter Buds
powder (not dairy-free)
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup boiling water
Combine all of the ingredients in a small cup. Stir carefully until
the sugar dissolves. Serve over pancakes. This amount serves 2 or 3
people. The recipe may be doubled or tripled as desired.
This recipe is quick and tasty and almost as easy as store-bought.
It's great for camping and backpacking. Older children who
aren't tempted to burn themselves can be in charge of preparing the
syrup and frying pancakes while Mom does more important things like
cleaning baby butts.
