I’ve been busy with real life the past couple of weeks, and when that happens my website always goes by the wayside. I’d like to be one of those bloggers who blogs in advance and schedules blogs to publish at a certain time every day. I may never achieve that goal, but it’s good to have something to aspire to. 🙂
I already posted one of the projects I’ve been working on–Free Patterns to fit the Darice Rag Doll available quite affordably at craft stores. I also have a pattern for a homemade 9.5-inch rag doll and her wardrobe I’m working on. I have the doll made and her pajamas, but want to finish her dress and sew on her hair before I post pics and PDF files.
I’ve worked some on the bedroom furniture for the ongoing Free Dollhouse Project too. It’s still in process though. Not quite ready for publishing.
In addition I have a few recipes I’ve perfected and am currently writing down so I can share them.
Plus, the scale finally reads 185lbs. I am ecstatic. In 10 pounds I will no longer be obese. I’m so dearly looking forward to merely being overweight. I cannot tell you how much I long for it!
Finally, I’m rewriting, overhauling and updating my Exchange Plan Weight Loss eBook. There’s so much to write and it’s very gratifying to get it all on paper (or rather the computer screen).
Last week I received a genuine, old-fashioned letter from a dear friend in Texas. I had forgotten how joyful it is to receive a hand written letter from a friend. I finally bought stamps today so I could send her return letter. I felt like an Edwardian heroine from one of my favorite early 20th Century novels. I sat at my desk, took out my stationary and a pen, and caught up on my correspondence. It was delightful! I encourage everyone to take the time to write someone you love a real old-fashioned letter. There is a satisfaction to it that nothing else can compare to. Plus it costs less than 50¢, and makes you (or me at least) feel like a contributing member of society.
In other news we’ve have very little extra cash for luxuries this month, and the same will be true of next month because of car insurance. All of our necessities and several little luxuries are still covered, but the extra cash for books and buttons is not available (not that I don’t already have plenty of both). So I have the lovely opportunity to really dig into my craft stash and see what I can make from things I already own. Plus I have to cook a lot, so recipes I’ve been putting off testing, or preparing because of how much work they are, are suddenly the perfect task for me to lay my hand to. Having limited finances does have its drawbacks, but it has it’s adventures too.
I’m looking forward to next month’s adventures!
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.–Philippians 4:11
It’s so nice to see you blogging again!
Thanks Gilana, I gotta admit, I’m really enjoying it. 🙂
I know this is off topic but could you tell me the name of the homeschool site that you once had with all of the public domain publications? Thank you so much.
