Just quick update to let everyone know that I’m doing fine. I don’t have a lot to say, so rather than bore you with all of my nothing, I haven’t been updating much.
On the food front, I have realized that I can write down everything I eat in my notebook, or I can do it on my website, but, sadly, I cannot do both. I may try a weekly food plan at some point, so that people who are interested can see it, but daily, I can only do it in my notebook because it’s a huge job and I can only do what I can do.
Meanwhile, I’ve been working on my cookbooks. One day I will complete one and publish it on amazon. But that day is not today.
I have stalled my weight loss at 183 to 185-pounds. I’m pleased that it’s not heavier, but frustrated that it’s not lower. I am kind of thinking about a new, lower calorie plan, but am not ready to go public with it, cause I don’t know if I will be successful or not. It’s just lower calorie, nothing fancy or revolutionary.
Mostly I just wanted to let everyone know that I’m doing well, so no one worries about me. 🙂
Maggie, forgive me if you have already said, but I am old and forgetful. Do you get plenty of exercise? I know exercise tends to make you a little hungrier, but over the long haul it makes a huge difference. When I was diagnosed with diabetes some years ago, I started power walking a mile 3 x a day. It has made a huge difference in my weight loss and controlling my blood sugar. I am happy to say I took off 60 pounds between the exercise and portion control. I don’t believe diet alone would have done it. Just a bit of unasked for advice from someone who has BTDT.
Maggie, I am happy to have the update. You do not bore your readers with day to day life. We enjoy reading and praying for you. We all have ups and downs. It is difficult to lose weight and I am sure you are pleased that you have not gained the weight back, as that unfortunately happens to many people.
Hi Maggie,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and life with us, I feel like you have a lot of wisdom and give me another way to look at things. God bless you and praying for further success and health and happiness for you!
Miss Maggie, glad to see you around again…no worries sister, we who fight the fight of the “fluff” are right there with you. For me, maintenance is the biggest hurdle, so at this point, although I want to lose more weight, i’m glad to not gain it. It can however be so frustrating. One can only do what what can do each day, my prayers and encouragement are with you, you already have MUCH to be proud of!
Hugs and prayers, Karoline
Can’t wait to read your book when you get it done!
Miss Maggie,
I am still a follower from Hillbilly Housewife. You have been such an inspiration for me. You could never bore me. Wish I could sit down with you sometime when we travel to the South. Hugs, Mendy
We miss you Maggie! Be well.

Hello, Miss Maggie! I’ve been reading your websites (this one and Hillbilly Housewife) since 2006 or so. I just wanted to say, “Hi.” You helped me to skimp financially through my college years, through a major illness (bone cancer), and now – as a happy housewife! You impact a lot of people, whether you realize it or not. Thanks! (
